Cars

sQuba

SQUBA

More than 30 years since Roger Moore's 007 put the idea into every guy's head, someone has finally replicated the underwater auto experience. Swiss design company Rinspeed has created the sQuba , the world's first submersible car. Based on the Lotus Elise (it was a Lotus Esprit in The Spy Who Loved Me), the all-electric convertible can drive you to the lake in style and then dive underwater to a depth of over 30 feet. The car's engine was removed and replaced by three motors — one for land driving, good for up to 75 mph, and two others for the underwater propellers. Power is supplied by rechargeable Lithium-Ion batteries. You can check the sQuba out in person at the Geneva Motor Show next month, but, unfortunately, there are no current plans to build others besides this prototype.

BMW Zagato Roadster

BMW ZAGATO ROADSTER

How do you make a car as stylish as the BMW Zagato Coupe even better? Chop off the roof, of course. The new BMW Zagato Roadster, is, like its predecessor, based on the Z4, and features a similarly upgraded body and interior, including 19-inch light-alloy wheels, an exclusive gray exterior paint finish, brown, leather-wrapped roll bars inspired by airplane design, and a more elegant tail end. Unfortunately, it shares something else with its stablemate — it's not for sale.

BMW 328 Hommage

BMW 328 HOMMAGE

You'd never know it by looking at one of today's tricked out models, but Bimmer's 328 started out life as a svelte sports coupe — a heritage that's being celebrated in the BMW 328 Hommage ($TBA). Created for the 328's 75th birthday, the Hommage is an open-top terror, with a retro meets Mad Max design formed from carbon fiber-reinforced plastic that brings the weight down to 1,720 pounds, and a 3.0L six-cylinder engine that's bound to send the tires blazing.

Cold Cavern Beer Froster

COLD CAVERN BEER FROSTER

Looking to keep your beer stash cold -- we're not talking silly label on a can cold, but nearly freezing the refreshing beverages inside cold? The Cold Cavern Beer Froster  is a spectacular way to do so. Based on a gorgeous stainless steel Summit freezer, the Beer Froster adds a thermostat to let you ensure that up to 120+ of your favorite beers stay at the arctic temperature of 24ºF, or right on the edge of freezing and exploding all over the place.
Kebo Bottle Opener
We admire simplicity here at Uncrate, especially when it comes to opening alcoholic beverages. Which is why we like the Kebo Bottle Opener . Based on the Theodore Low bottle opener from the '30s, it's cast from stainless steel, polished to a mirror finish, and allows you to open bottles with a simple squeeze of your hand — which is good, if the bottle you're opening isn't your first. Or fifth. Like we said, simple is better.

INTOXBOX

IntoxBox
Whether you own your own bar or are simply the frequent host of over-the-top beer bashes, the IntoxBox  will ensure that no one leaves without at least knowing that they're well over the limit. This commercial breathalyzer lets your patrons — or guests — pay a small fee with cash or a credit card, then use a disposable, sanitary straw to blow into the screen to receive an accurate BAC result that's thankfully not printed or recorded. More than just a handy gadget, it's a potential life saver.

JAMES BOND 007 FRAGRANCE

Coinciding with the franchise's 50th anniversary — and this November's release of Skyfall — the officialJames Bond 007 Fragrance ($TBA) gives you a chance to smell like one of MI6's finest.
